ORGERS IN LONDON - ADVISE PLEASE!

Ok, here's the deal... it looks as if everything in my life is about 2 change, and (hopefully) 4 the better. I've met the 2 most wonderful guys, and have been with them since june last year. NOT a 'normal' 'relationship' - I know, but all I can say is that I/we didnt set out 4 it 2 happen, it just DID...and it WORKS. Some of u here that Im particularly close 2 have known about this 4 some time anyway.

Anyway, it's now official - we've discussed the prospect of me relocating, and now Im starting 2 put the wheels in motion. Ive been unhappy in my current job 4 some months now. I have my good days, but I just dont feel fullfilled there anymore. Where I used 2 love getting up in the morning 2 go in2 work (a 1st!) I now begrudge the very fact. It's now all about hitting targets, and the hard sell. I can understand that from a company desperate 2 turn a profit over 4 the 1st time since its inception, but as I mentioned 2 my Boss, it's not a pay rise Im after (although I wouldn'y complain!) but simply JOB SATISFACTION. If ur work force aint happy, then that gets fed down 2 how they operate, feeding down thru 2 the customer in the service they recieve. Off the record, my Boss informed me that the current unofficial edict from on high was 'if u dont like it...LEAVE.'

So I dont think it will be too hard 2 see that Im pretty much doing this right now: wall

I am already looking at jobs in London - have applied 4 an internal position at the head office of the record chain I work 4 as a Product Manager 4 their Games Division (Im currently in-store Games Enthusiast, 3rd Key Holder, and fill in as Ass. Manager when no-one else is in). It may be a little above me, but fuck it - if I dont TRY - im never gonna get anywhere am I?

Ive also applied 4 a few application forms whilst here in London this week on holiday, I thought it best 2 take advantage of the fact Im actually in the city currently. One of these is 4 the HEX (Heathrow Express) in Customer Service. A month or 2 ago, I was commended in a store-wide internal memo on this, due 2 customer feedback - so Im gonna ensure that gets mentioned too. Im also considering applying 2 train up as Cabin Crew 4 Virgin Atlantic. Hell, if Im gonna change one thing, why not go the whole hog huh?

Me - a friggin' 'Trolley Dolley'! falloff Who would've thunk it? big grin

What I need advice/help on - is ANY tips u guys can give me in the meantime that u think would help - would REALLY be appreciated right now more than u know. Anyone recommend an English-based website where I can create a new, up-2-date CV so that it can be adjusted /updated as and when, and also be available 2 download/send 2 prospective employers? Things like that - however small a tip - PLEASE...do share with me. I really want 2 make this all happen, and Ive got a LOT 2 sort out, so the smoother this all goes, the better - and that's where u guys come in with your feedback 2 this thread. U dont have 2 live in London either if u feel u have something 2 contruibute. I hope u'll help.

Im really excited about this period of change in my life, and Im gonna grasp it with both hands - as 4 too long, Ive lived my life 4 other people (long, boring story!)

But now...it's about ME.

(...and the 'pimp sandwich' according 2 Jonny!) lol

Best of luck, my friend!!!!

I did something similar when I moved to L.A. in 2000.
I was ready for COMPLETE change. I started over as an
intern at a video editing facility. And you know where
that led me... I salute your courage to make positive
change in your life.

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined"
Henry David Thoreau.

Have you read The Alchemist? If you haven't, run
out and get it! It's a great story about how to live
life, with the moral that "when you decide to pursue
your dreams, the universe will conspire to help you
achieve it."

hug

LOVE U!
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

LONDON BABY!

I live in the North East side of London and as for job advice, why dont you try checking out www.jobs.co.uk? When you get here, you can check your local Citizen's Advice Bureau for jobs too.

Send me a note if you wish to discuss this further.

Oh and congratulations! smile
