Richard Benjamin - Love at First Bite (1979)

Peter Cushing - Dracula (1958)
Anthony Hopkins - Dracula (1992)
Christopher Plummer - Dracula 2000 (2000)

Hopkins portrayed a great Professor Abraham Van Helsing the one redeeming quality of Bram Stokers Dracula directed by Francis Ford Coppola.....

Agree....Anthony Hopkins putting forth the most, playing a very cool Van Helsing - Winona Rider is pretty good, as is Gary Oldman, and Keannu Reeves isn't as bad as usual. The worst part is Francis Ford Coppola's direction. It's just too self-loving. He's really made nothing very good since "The Godfather: Part II".

Totally agree, although I wish that Winona hadn't tried an English accent (I won't even go there with Keannu's).

Unfotunately, I'm afraid that "Van Helsing" is just gonna be bad (by the way, it opens NEXT weekend, not this one). The test screening reviews have, so far, been almost universally negative. The one positive review I read of it was that it was like a Troma picture with a budget. Personally, that idea doesn't sound too good! Here's hoping the reviews are wrong, but I'm not holding my breath on this one.

What i meant was actually when you have such a dull directed film and the actors do there best you must say something good about that ....i usually dont like Winona nor Keannu ....and even Gary Oldman as Dracula ..did not save any dullness....but Anthony Hopkins as Van Helsing was the saviour of the film.....After reading the novel by Bram Stoker he portrayed Van Helsing at his best according to Bram Stoker Van Helsing was a "cold blooded romantic".....
