The London Gherkin There's a new skyscraper that's been officially opened today and Londoners are referring to it as 'The London Gherkin'
I'm sorry, but "gherkin" isn't the first word that springs to mind. Well - not to my mind. Its very striking.

Very intimidating. I hope they greased it really good.

I like it. I can see it from my office and i think it makes the skyline prettier.

It opened today? Hasn't it been around for a while? I mean, like, where is the sun?

Admit it, it's a missle in disguise, isn't it? And it's aimed at America!

I haven't been to London since last year and I never saw anything like this being constructed.
Its like Dr. Evil's rocket ship. It looks like a big huge...

It's been up since I moved here last September. At night it has these red lights at the tip... I guess to avoid planes crashing into it. I think it's beautiful and gives the Thames skyline something new... other than that honking big OXO tower! I mean, like, where is the sun?

-It was designed by Sir Norman Foster and was granted planning permission in August 2000.
-It's 40 storey's high. -It was constructed on the site of the old Baltic Exchange, which was badly damaged by an IRA bomb in 1992. -It's 590ft.
