The Flu

Has anyone else gotten this thing yet? It hit me on Thursday night. My stomach puffed up and I looked like I was six months pregnant, the aches... ooooh, I hurt... vomiting. It sucked. I think I caught it from my ex-husband, when I went over to bring him food because he had it. Stupid me... next day I was sick with it. It was horrible, it came on quick. Earlier I was perfect... hours later I was puffed up and in pain. I can't remember the last time I felt so sick from the flu.

Today I'm well and it's all gone. So, if you do have it, the good news is it doesn't last long!

Thanks... it was awful. Yes... take your vitamins and keep sprying that Lysol! Seriously. This was horrible! Nothing could ease the aches and pains... even my ankles hurt.

I did learn something from it, though. My current boyfriend would rather leave, so as to not get sick, than take care of me. It'd be too bad if he happened to catch it.

It lasted for one day? Maybe you had some food that wasn't prepared safely...
I took a food safety course for work...they drilled us about proper food temps,
proper washing, cleanliness, etc. They claimed that alot of times when folks
get sick for one or two days, what some call the "24 hour flu", more times than
not it's a case of unsafely handled/prepared food.

Glad you're feeling better! hug
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I have had flu more times in the 3 years we have been back in the UK, from returning back from the USA, than in the 8 years we lived in the USA!!! I get it on average about once every 6 weeks!!!!

I blame it on the poor air quality here in the UK(I live on the south coast right by the sea and the sea air doent help me much either!!!), living in too close proximity 2 other people, the stress here(theres more stress here than in the USA), being too close 2 other people that smoke(theres still more people that smoke here than in the USA)!!! sad sad sad sad sad

I have constant catarrh, chest and sinus problems here!!! sad sad sad sad

I was hardly ever sick in the USA!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Yeah... a little over a day. I would say that could be the case, but because my ex-husband had the exact same symptoms (he even looked pregnant), I think it was the flu. I'm not kidding when I say my stomach puffed right out... it was HUGE! Who knows... whatever it was, I never want it again!

'Tis okay... trust me... I was thinking much worse.

I'm sure some of you (I know some of you are) are wondering why I still have him around. I'm not sure. But, I'm sure he won't be for long.

I won't have to. Soon enough I'll be watching while he packs it all up and carries it out himself... for the second time. smile
