Anybody practice yoga? If so, what kind? I'd like to work my way up to Kundalini Yoga.
I just started last night and my legs are a little sore, but I feel great! I'm doing theYoga Conditioning for Weight Loss dvd. It's awesome. It was shot in Sedona, Arizona so there are beautiful red rocks in the background. With the dvd you can choose 4 levels of modification, so that's pretty neato. I have NO flexibility, lol.

I did yoga in my German class, junior year of high school. My favorite position? Die Leiche (the corpse)... it meant we could lay down and close our eyes for a few minutes and catch up on our zzzs...
I mean, like, where is the sun?

It explains why, after 4 years, I can't speak a lick of it! I mean, like, where is the sun?

I've been doing Beckram yoga every couple of weeks.
It's in a room that's 120 degrees and in addition to the stretching you are battling your mind because of the heat. It always makes me feel amazing.

If you can, go check out Golden Bridge Yoga in L.A. You can take a Saturday morning Kundalini class with Gurmukh. She kind of the Godmother of Kundalini in its current practice. I liked all of the classes I did there. And they're suitable for beginners -- I had about 2 months experience with Iyengar when I went to Golden Bridge.

Ooh, one of my favorite topics.....
I've been doing yoga for 5 years now, and once I started I was hooked. I kick myself for not getting into it 10 years ago (being a dancer, it's changed my life/body/mind). I do mostly Iyengar yoga, and don't do classes anymore, mostly because my first yoga teacher moved to Sweden, and my second moved to Switzerland last year. So, I always do it by myself at home because after five years I have enough knowledge of asanas and meditation methods to basically work on it myself. Although I'll take a class here and there when I'm in the U.S. (I can't find any good classes here in Holland at the moment) because I love getting corrections and it's always nice to have an outside eye. One day I'd like to teach it as well. Stick with it, because you can do it your whole life and always improve. Plus, it centers you whole body and mind, prevents injury and sickness, and gives you energy. I've noticed a difference in my breathing and even just the way I walk. I tried another yoga video last year and it was tooo strenuous for me that I got sick the next day. I wasn't ready for those toxins to flush out. I took some dance in college (jazz, modern, ballet and African) so I could totally understand proper alignment. Having an outside eye would be great, I used to love that about my Modern dance teacher. She was really good at checking your body and making sure you were moving the right way. I got a little worried when I was doing one of the poses and watching the tv screen then she says "never turn your head during this pose"... OOPS!

I practiced Hatha Yoga for a few years.. I just haven't had the time, nor the desire.. Which for me is not good.
Kundalini is so good for breathing... ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

My uncle is actually a qualified teacher of yoga and spends about 80% of his time in his room doin yoga! Since i was young i've been able to naturally sit with my legs crossing over with my knees touching..one day he saw me do this n he flipped!! Apparantly this is what people do yoga to achieve...but ya need flexible hips for it!!! No hablo espanol,no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... "Come into my world..." Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "
