Help! Need Free Online Storage I need to find an online file storage portal that is completely free.
There used to be loads around, but now they all seem to charge. A lot of free sites like Geocities etc. have strict bandwith limits. I just want something easy to use and free. I don't care if its slightly dodgy. Oh - FTP access would be better too.

I have some free webspace on there (10mb I think) but I got that about 3 years ago and I no longer administer the site I was hosting there, someone else looks after it now. The site is still up so I assume the service is still free. It was always easy to use, straightforward FTP - I used WSFTP to throw my stuff on there. I'd look it up for you to find out if it's still free but the damn firewall won't let me in. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

The file-size restrictions of the free package are way too small.

http://www.freeservers.com/compare.htm Thanks for replying, anyway. No problem. How restrictive is the file size? I guess it was never a problem for me, the largest files I ever uploaded were probably jpegs, the largest of which was probably no more that 400k. How about www.catalog.com ??? It claims "30MB disk storage, 500MB traffic, www.yourowndomain.com, no banners or ads on your site, Unlimited FTP and 24x7 technical support." - if that's any use to you. It also claims to be free but again I can't get into the site to check it out. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

That Catalog.com place does offer free hosting (with adequate bandwith), but only if you buy a domain name from them.
