why oh why oh why do guys think that the best time to hit on you/try to get your digits is when you're grocery shopping?!!! case in point: i just came back from the store by my house--i went over there to get a couple things for dinner. this brotha was on his way out the door when he seen me walkin in the joint and he was all like, "hey, can i talk to you?" i'm all thinkin like "dude, no...i'm totally doin an in/out job at the store, i ain't got time to sit and talk."

s'like, i go over to the frozen food aisle--dude follows me over there. as i'm standin there and decidin if i wanna buy a beef stroganoff teevee dinner or not, he's askin me stuff like:

-- if i live here in minneapolis (no, dum-dum...i'm shoppin at a minneapolis grocery store but i live all the way out in fuckin eden prairie!)

-- what my name is (i don't think he heard me too well cuz he mispronounced it)

-- if i wanted to hook up (i lied and told him that i'm taken...heh)

...needless to say, i'm glad he wasn't some crazy-ass dude--hell, then again for all i know he coulda been. he seemed nice, but shit like that annoys me to no end--wait till after i'm done shoppin to even attempt to talk to me. graaaah. if guys were in the same predicament, they'd be a titch annoyed too, i bet.

LOL - I have a funny story to tell about getting hit on as well. I recently went to the police station to pay off a traffic ticket, and there was an older man there (this guy was probably around my dad's age). He starts getting really friendly, talking to me, asking me about my traffic ticket, etc. etc. Then this dude wants to take me to the horseracing place, out dancing, etc. etc. I just kinda laughed it off, but what I SHOULD have said was, "No offense, but I don't date men my dad's age". I didn't know how to say that without sounding cold, so I just continued to let this guy talk to me.

Finally I get waited on (after I wait in line for about 45 minutes). As I'm walking up to the window, this guy says, "I'll wait for you and walk you to your car". Wait he did, I must have been at the window for a good 15-20 minutes. Finally when that was all over, this guy walks me out to my car, tells me about this great place to go dancing, that I should check it out sometime, and maybe he would see me there. I just nicely said in a nonchalant way, "I'm gonna have to go check it out", but inside I'm thinking, "Liar, you will never go there". Then before I start my car and pull away, this dude is again knocking on my window, he wants to know what the kind of car I'm driving, since he's thinking of getting a new one himself. Poor guy must have been very lonely, but I kinda felt sorry for him so I was nice to him the whole time. I finally left the police station, and thank goodness this dude wasn't following me (I kept looking in my rear view mirror to see if he was behind me).

Whew! Some men are persistent that's for sure. They don't care how old or young you are, where you are, or why you are there. If they find you cute, friendly, "positive" (which is what this older guy said I was), they will just go after you. I was in a bad mood with having to pay the traffic ticket, and wasn't really in the mood to get hit on by anybody. I just wanted to pay the ticket and leave, but this old dude would not stop talking to me.
