Actual Medical Advice needed on this one!!!!! Okay, please don't jump to any conclusions on this, 'cause I'm just asking a question or two.
To the ladies, especially ones who've had children: what are actually the symptoms of pregnancy? Ya know, besides the puking???? I just wanna know, cause I think I may need to go to the doc's office. I'm worried and scared to death, y'all!! I mean, I seriously doubt that I'm pregnant, but there is still a possibility. So, help!!! How else can ya tell whether you're expecting??? They did WHAT??!....

Also, if you're willing to give a little more info: do you keep track of your cycle? (the number of days from the start of your last period to the beginning of the next) Are you regular? I ask, because it can be helpful to know when you ovulate, which is usually in the middle of your cycle, around 2 weeks after your period. That's when your chances of getting pregnant are highest.
If you're on a hormonal method of birth control (pill, patch, Depo Shot, hormonal IUD), then you're not supposed to ovulate. BUT if you miss a pill or patch or shot, you could ovulate anytime..... Lastly, always remember that if you've had unprotected sex (condom broke, you missed a pill, whatever), you have 3 days to go to the pharmacy and get the Morning After Pill, which prevents pregnancy 75% of the time, if taken within the 3 days.

All correct as far as I'm aware. If you're within 3 days, call Planned Parenthood. I have taken the morning after pill myself once. It is sooooo worth the peace of mind. Or if you're after that point, go get a test. Take it. You'll know. For me, not knowing was the most excruciating part. |

well, you shouldn't have to worry. It's not like catching the flu or anything contagious like that. You have to get some loving first before you can get pregnant.

an over-the-counter pregnancy test relies on the presence of a hormone in the [pregnant] woman's urine but not all women have this hormone in measurable quantities early.
a blood test, however, will determine this very accurately

aren't pregnancy tests kinda expensive? I mean, like, where is the sun?

no. they're under $15 and considering that they test for pregnancy, that's not a lot of money. i spend more on my hair.

Our clinic does them for free.... (Just don't go to church-sponsored places, which are not actually medical facilities)

Speaking of pregnancy. Has anyone heard of birth control where you get an injection? I don't know what it's called, but your doctor, or you, can inject this stuff into your arm or something. A girl at work was mentioning it but wasn't very clear on how effective it was, or really clear on anything about it for that matter. Her doctor just prescribed it and she did it.
I'm considering doing this. The doctor won't put me on the pill and I don't like condoms, so I'm kinda just hoping each month. I need something! Anyone use this or know about it?

Depo Provera, you get an injection once every 3 months and it's even MORE effective against pregnancy than the pill. But, if your doctor won't put you on the pill, s/he probably won't put you on the shot, either, cause it has estrogen/progestin. "I don't like condoms, so I'm just kinda hoping"

I've seen BC patches, you wear for a week, then replace with a new one. I asked my wife about this, but she says they're expensive. Don't know about the injection kind...weren't there strips that were implanted under your skin? What happened to those? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
