Looking at that seriously made me shudder. My eyes get irritated pretty easily anyway, so just the thought of putting metal in them really bothers me.

Actually there's very little that can go wrong. There's no such thing as the general "eye surgery". Every procedure is different and has different purposes and consequences.

not when it comes to eye surgery, at least not for me. i'm too blind to take any messing with the eyes lightly. even one risk is too risky when it comes to eye surgery, especially stupid vanity eye surgery.
