Fred Durst has no rights directing movies

So I read online that mr. nookie is supposed to direct the movie lords of dogtown. This is a movie based on Dogtown and z-boys which is a skate/surf/southern california documentary.

My question is what the fuck is durst directing movies for and why this one where he knows nothing about the culture?
