The good citizen

Have U ever made a citizen's arrest? Or perhaps courageously prevented someone from breaking the law. My Mum's friend managed to trip a thief over whi had just stolen an old lady's bag.

I always thought it would be cool to prevent someone fleeing the scene of a crime by hitting them with a can of beans. Very much like Paul Hogan in 'Crocodile Dundee'.

Anyways, any stories? smile

lol

I always call the police when I see something that's not right. I once tried to break up a bar fight and landed in the emergency room having my eye socket x-rayed to ensure it wasn't fractured and had to wear an eye patch for 2 days. Since that happened, I never personally involve myself. I've called on my neighbor's nasty boyfriend (who domestically abuses him), on a dunken fight outside of a bar after a Charlatans show where there were 5 men beating up 1 man, and once cause there was a homless-looking man so drunk he was wandering and weaving into the street and could barely walk. I was afraid he'd get run over.

I clotheslined a guy who stole a bike once. This kid was unlocking his bike and the guy just grabbed it, hopped on and started peddling, so I stuck my arm out, he fell off and ran off. Not so much of an arrest, but thought I'd mention.

Not really, it fuckin' hurt and he could have kicked my head in. I had to do a quick hmmm could I have him if things get desperate calculation lol No I didn't.

I was really quick, I just did it, and remember thinking afterwards that it was kinda stoopid.

The kid was cute, he just said "Thanks Mister" and rode off.
