Lobe stretching

(Can't see the pic...assuming you're talking about normal gauging???)
My sister has a 2 in one ear and a double-zero in the other. She does her stretching herself, as it costs $ to get it done at the piercing shop. She bought an acrylic stretching post...it is more comfortable for her to do it herself anyway 
Do you have gauges already Natsume? I would start off with a smaller gauge...16 or even 16 and use the stretching post and move up from there. Good luck!   | |

My nephews have their lobes stretched...

Okay, let me start over. The jewelry is very VERY small - about the width of a toothpick. (I tried looking for a photo but the website won't let me link - if you go to www.tribu.co.uk, you can see a photo under 'about us'). It is the smallest stage to lobe stretching and I have no desire to go any bigger than that. It will shrink back to normal size after time if I take them out.

My thing is that I don't like piercings that can't be hidden, or that leave noticeable scars - even my most obvious piercings (septum, tongue) follow those rules. I agree, though - some of the gauges people get to are way too big. I wouldn't want to get anything I regret in 10, 20, 30 years.  I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

I tried inserting them last night but it was way too painful. I know going to a piercing place wouldn't help much, as they would just shove it through like I tried to.
Should I just give up? I'm pretty frustrated, and so jealous that my boyfriend has his in! My ears have been pierced YEARS longer than his have!  I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

My sister isn't the type to regret decisions such as this...but I will say that the holes close up VERY quickly, even after her having the earrings out for a short period of time. She has to work back up to the # she was at slowly. But, you're only looking for a small gauge, so...it won't take very much stretching. You can handle it | |

Actually, the piercing shops are very gentle, from what she said. Its just too damn expensive... I think the little stretching posts only cost a few bucks. I tried putting them in with olive oil (as suggested) after a hot shower (also as suggested) but maybe ice will do the trick. I pierced my own ears multiple times when I was younger - with a Sharpie, ice, and sewing needle! - so this should be small potatos... right? thanks summer!!  I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

Hey Nat , yep it will be very sore for a few days after putting in the stretcher but will calm down after that , just keep bathing it with surgical spirit or any kind of anti bacterial .
And as far as I am aware , as long as you dont go over 8mm the hole shouldnt scar and will heal itsself when you decide to take out the stretcher | |

I had a 'slave bar' once...like this one 
The guy that pierced it was...um, not very gentle. I had to take it out...couldn't even sleep
Now I just have 1 regular piercing in each ear. I've become a wuss in my old age

I've seen this type'a thing before the one you showed looks rank but one I saw had like a lil empty hole rather than the clock face and when I first saw one I was really confused... "I can see through time" I thought  JaneyPoos used to be it... then they changed what it was. Now what I am isn't it and what is it is strange and frightening to me...

I have a 2 gauge in my left ear. I started it by putting 2 earrings in one hole and then pulling on them. Then every weekend when I came home drunk I'd pop a bigger one in. It worked but I'll tell ya I can't do the other side!
If you do them don't go too big Nat...and I'll tell ya that they can really stink sometimes!!! Yeah, it's gross...I always laugh when a guy goes to suck on my ear cuz they have no idea what they are in store for! | |
