Diet Pills

Just wondering if anyone has taken diet pills, and if so, if they got the results that they were looking for. I normally don't take diet pills, but desparate times call for desparate measures, since I need to lose a good 60 pounds. I look and feel like a fat cow, and I'm totally disgusted with myself. I was thinking that if I dieted, drank water, exercised and took diet pills to help speed it along a little (since I'm over 40 now), it might work a little faster than just diet and exercise. Your thoughts on this?
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Exercise and cutting out the junk food is all you will ever need.

I've never tried diet pills but I've never read anything but stories about how unhealthy they all prove to be.

Do a little research on the pills before you buy them. Many are just caffiene bombs. They may list all kinds of herbs and other ingredients, but they're often just all forms of caffiene.

Stuff with Green Tea and B vitamins will give you some good energy, without the nervous jitters from caffiene.

The thing with diet pills (stacker type of products or even better ephedrine HCL with caffeine and yohimbe HCl) is that even the ones that do work, only boost your metabolism with approx 10%. Your diet itself is the most important factor, second and third are metabolism boosters like pills and exercise.

I haven't taken diet pills cos i'm quite a skinny boy anyway. But i would seriously suggest giving these a miss - they are a disgraceful attempt to fleece people out of cash. They'll do absolutely nothing for you.

Go ask your doctor if you really want to lose weight and they should be able to put you on a program for you to stick to (and it they're worth anything they won't recommend diet pills). You may as well take placebos - they'll have the same effect as diet pills.

You seem sure that you want to lose weight, but don't feel disgusted with yourself - you shouldn't. Everyone's a different shape and size. Would be very boring if they weren't. If you really do want to lose weight though, stick with the well-trodden exercise and low calorie diet (at a safe level). And be very careful with foods claiming to be low-fat (which they may well be but are often laden with sugar which converts very quickly if not burnt off).

But above all, be happy in yourself. biggrin

I would avoid the diet pills if i were you. Many of this pills are not tested for safety (due to their being marketed as supplements) and any small amount of weight you do lose you will gain right back onece you stop taking the pills.

DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS!!!! Please!!! I took "script" diet pills for a long time. Yeah, you lose the weight, but the side effects can be awful, AND THEY GET TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE 80-100 dollars a bottle.....I stopped taking them, and its really hard to stay away from them. Once you stop taking them, you gain a little bit of weight.
If you need to lose weight , try the natural way.....LOTS OF SEX razz

Diet pills are bogus and a shorcut that will not get you very far with your weight loss hopes. They contain amphetamines (the same substance that is known as Speed or Ice) due to the fact that they work with the chemicals in your brain to trick it into thinking your not hungry (appetite suppressant). I have taken diet pills in the past and do not recommend them in the least. The healthy alternative to a better body and lifestyle is a balanced diet and plenty of exercise.

Some of the general side effects of diet pills are:

Nervousness, restlessness, insomnia, high blood pressure, fatigue and hyperactivity, heart palpitations, congestive heart failure or heart attack, stroke, headaches, dry mouth, vomitting and diarrhea or constipation, intestinal disturbances, tightness in chest, tingling in extremities, excessive persperation, dizziness, disruption in mentrual cycle, change in libido, hair loss, blurred vision, fever and urinary tract problems. Ewwwww....ill
