Does it mean that I wish he'd get as much regconition as Prince? And that I feel Rick should get down to business (office supply store) and make himself more visable to the public?

Each thing or person or object or whatever actually represents a part of you. Pick characteristics you tend to admire or are typical of that object or person. Apply it to what's goin on around you and it should makes sense to ya.
