I don't wear it. It doesn't make me look like a stunner, so my feeling is why bother? If it doesn't fit, it's ugly anyway.

Yep, not any foundation because my complexion isn't bad, but I wear a little blush to accentuate my cheekbones, mascara, and lip gloss with nude liner to plump up the lips some mo'. [This message was edited Sun Apr 4 14:13:07 2004 by theVelvetRoper]

I can only wear Shiseido lipstick. my skin is way sensitive so I cannot wear any other make up or brand. But that's ok. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

Mascara and eyeliner, and that's about it. On special occasions, I bust out the colourful stuff. No neutrals for me! Browns and other natural shades make my skin look yellow. And pastels should never be worn on anyone over the age of five. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

i do wear a fair amount of make-up - i love the process, for some weird reason. on the weekends, i don't do a lot, but during the week, it's foundation, blush, eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. i try to keep the colors pretty neutral, though - no blues, greens or pinks here... ok, fellow spacklers, come out of the closet and say it loud and proud: "i won't leave the house without my 'face'!" co-sign Except in the summer...i don't use the foundation only the lipstick and mascara I love the summer

That's not true. Pastels can look very beautiful, like a sheer color wash, or watercolors. They look good on almost every skin tone too, as long as they aren't cakey or matte. They should have a bit of shimmer to them. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

In the field that I'm in, my face is important. I'm a public affairs person. I guess I've mastered looking like I don't have much on. But, I do wear it. In college, hardly did, that took away my sleep time. My face is blotchy from acne in my teens. I'm also extremely fair and have dark hair and dark eyes. I have to wear rouge or I will really look like death. But, I am a glam girl, I love getting ready and trying new colors and things. But....I will go out in public with out any. I guess I'm driving in the middle of the road on this one.

In fact, it is my favorite part of going out: the preparation time. Although, I don't wear much make-up at all during the week because it's pointless when you are training and rehearsing. I just sweat it all off. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I used to wear it all the time during the 80's (Flori Roberts, Fashion Fair). I knew this guy who used to call it "war paint"; guess he liked his women natural. Nowadays, I don't wear any. (Okay, for a job interview or going out clubbin' but, that's it really.) When I do put it on, I feel the only thing that's missing is a shiny red nose. I just don't feel like me. I also feel that I have to be extra careful about getting it on my coat collar. (I used to feel guilty about messing up a guy's shirt with it, too.) And lipstick.... I can never find a color that works. If I could, maybe I'd wear some.
btw, I really can't get into stores like Sephora. How ironic...my avatar says "vanity." [This message was edited Tue Mar 30 6:48:27 2004 by UptownDeb]

I wear make-up every day. Even if it's just gloss and some mascara. Usually I do have my face on though...

Ex-Moderator | On a daily basis I wear eyeliner. When I don't wear it people say I look "tired". A few times a week I put on lipstick. When I'm going out for a night of fun, it's the whole shebang. I love wearing make-up, long and thick false eyelashes, etc. As someone else said, getting ready is half the fun for me. |

I only put on make-up if I'm going out ~ I look a'right without it. If I do wear any my motto is if it takes more than 2 minutes to put on I'm wearing too much *lol* usually just powder foundation, blush, and some neutral (taupe/plumish) eyeshadow and I'm set

Speaking of "war paint", I have a funny story to tell about that. I remember when I was working at this one company, and there was this one middle-aged gentlemen who, I guess, thought I had too much makeup on. He asked me, "What's that stuff all over your face?" I made a "woo woo woo" sound like an Indian, and responded, "War paint!" Another gentlemen who was in close vicinity when this conversation was taking place heard me, and he started laughing. The gentlemen who made the comment about my makeup never did it again, probably because I came right out and said what he was thinking. My oldest brother doesn't like makeup either. He once told me that he felt that women didn't need to wear makeup (they looked fine without it) and that all makeup should be burned. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
