I just got back from seeing it. I was kind of worried from some of the reviews that came out but once I saw it for myself I really liked. Yeah, it has some of the cliches of a romantic comedy but it had a lot of Kevin Smith's humor. I think a lot of the negativity is because of Jlo but she didn't bother me plus she's killed off about fifteen minutes in. Ben Affleck was good and the little girl was excellent. She wasn't some sickeningly sweet kid actor. The best though is Liv Tyler. I love the part where she quizes Afflecks character on how much porno he watches a week for some thesis she is writing. It reminded me somewhat of Trish the Dish in Mallrats. It was really funny too in the video store when he's with his daughter and tries to nonchalantly grab a porno tape through some loud bamboo curtains.

About 85% of the movie is Kevin's dirty humor and dialog. Not as in your face but still there and there was also a lot of heart. It's definitely one of his most personal movies like Chasing Amy. Take my word go see the movie he didn't sellout at all. He changed a couple of words here or there to make it pg-13. Kind of like how Howard Stern thinks of a different word to get around the hardcore swear word. Example: Liv Tyler tells Ben Affleck "I just wanted to give you a quick jump." Instead of saying a quick fuck. The trailer makes it look like a typical romantic comedy movie but it's not. He also picked some really good music like The Cure.
