I'd recommend Tim Burton's "The Nightmare before Christmas". Although it's as much about Danny Elfman than Mr Burton.

What a coincidence! When I do that, if you look very carefully, you can see the words:

"Cloudbuster was here"

tattoed on my censored

Hi, 9s rose biggrin

hmmm...Well, one that's good is the movie that I can't think of it's name---I just described it on MsTouch's thread...

I LOVE "Like Water For Chocolate"...WITH the subtitles...

"Night On Earth"...There are five stories in this film. One is set in Los Angles (Gena Rowlands & Winona Rider) one in NY (Rosie Perez)...3 are subtitled (France, Italy, and Germany)...The movie take you to five parts of the world on this one night and lets you into these people's lives for a few moments. nod It's good. smile

...Let me think... biggrin

Just thought of these two...

"I Like It Like That"...It's about a family in the Bronx dealing with romantic and financial and family troubles...growing pains...

"The Lover" has Jane March as a young school girl who has an affair with a Chinese heir.

...more later. smile

I just watched this German film called "Sophiiie!" the other night. it was on really late and I just really got into it. Probably the most depressing film I've seen in a while, but good.

It may not be cinematic genius but I really dig this movie:

The Last American Virgin

( I'm not sure but I think it's about 9s biggrin)
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

No, forget about the reviews; it was great! Great acting by Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Naiomi Watts and a really interesting story line. I saw it in the theater and loved it; it's definitely worth the rental.

I know that for whatever reason there have been a lot of movie threads lately.

Here's another one.

What movies have you seen recently, good or bad.

I watched Morvern Callar not too long ago. Hey the box said it was a hit at Sundance.

I didn't really get that movie. There was a corpse and a manuscript and a lot of Scottish (?) slang. Recipe for disaster, but tell that to the people at Sundance! Those phoney baloneys!

What else?

Oh yeah! School of Rock! Loved it! Jack Black cracks me up!

The novel is amazing-me and Im sure Natsume would agree loved it.

I'd recommend Sexy Beast with Ray Winstone and the ever wonderful Ben Kingsley. Kingsley's performance is both equally amusing and frightening.
