The Greatest Film Of All Time

i just saw the 100 Greatest Movies Ever on telly. Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back came out at number one.

what do you think is the greatest film of all time? it doesn't have to be your personal favourite.

i personally think it's all three of the Lord Of The Rings films but my personal favourite is The Wizard Of Oz.

2the9s

I was never a big Star Wars fan. When I was a kid and they came out, yeah. But those movies just don't hold up for me... shrug

Greatest film of all time would have to be Casablanca or It's a Wonderful Life or GlenGarry Glen Ross or Mean Streets.

the above movies have great character development, an awesome story/script, perfect pacing and groundbreaking visual style...

im of the mind that the lord of the rings trilogy will be remembers much more for its faults...(as is the case of titanic) then for the phenom that it was..thats not taking anything away from a wonderful trilogy..but, if you watch the films on their own..and judge them as art on their own...the first was great..not excellent...the second was good and had major pacing issues...i think the actors within the Lord Trilogy really deserve much more credit and recongnition then they received....this trilogy could have been a joke...yet they built the emotional arcs that exist in their acting and not within the script...these movies were great...awesome even..but not the best of all time..IMHO...

remember when people were crying that Titanic was the best film ever made? and that celine dion was a god? giggle

I have a few that are near the top:

East is East: A great flim about a Muslim father and an English mother living in England with their family. It's funny but it covers social issues that the childeren must face because their father wants them to study a traditional ways of Islam and they want to live the lifestyles of the English.

One of the most intense movies I've seen

A Classic
