Circuit City Syndrome

Don't you hate it when two or more people at the office or in your apartment (if you have roommates or family) decide to blast their music, giving your surroundings the aural atmosphere of the stereo department at Circuit City?

Yeah, but do you turn on two different stereos to two different CDs/radio stations when you are having a cranking session?

And another thing - why is it that when someone blasts music, it's never music I want to hear?

One time - ONCE IN MY LIFE - I had a neighbor who played music too loudly, but it was music I liked, so I'd just turn my music off and groove to hers.

That has never happened before or since. Whenever someone plays music too loud around me, it's never anything I want to hear. Never. If someone started crankin' My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts when I walked into work, I'd literally have a heart attack and die.

once, in college, my musclebound, dopehead RA was suffering from his "Circuit City Syndrome," and he was blasting a midtempo ballad with a coolly-sung falsetto and what sounded like some beautifully played rock guitar.

"I know that vibrato! That's Prince!!!"

I went over to his room and discovered the joy that is "Crucial." He was kind enough to let me hold that tape for a while.
