Nope. But all the kids in my neighborhood used to get together on summer nights after dark and play kick the can or capture the flag. It's a darn shame kids can't do that these days.  |

seriously, block parties weren't really a thing to do where i'm from. the closest you'd get to a block party is on the 4th of july, goin over to a relative's house for their yearly bbq in their backyard, and a bunch of relatives and their friends come over. | |

Due to council regulations, no 
BUT sometimes they close off streets and have BIG BIG parades where people dress in BIG BIG costumes and wave at you   No hablo espanol,no!

Yep! We used to call them "block parties." I lived in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn then. They'd block off the street from end to end and there'd be dancing, music, food, and hot fun in the summer time. Oh, those were the best days.... | |
