My "bests" are about the same as yours.

Worsts also include Pet Semetary and Sometimes They Come Back.

I liked Storm of the Century, although that was made for TV anyway. Didn't they make one based on Rose Madder as well? I LOVED Creepshow though. Pure camp. thumbs up!

His best book is Pet Semetary, which is, ironically, the worst film adaptation of his work. I also love (bookwise) The Dark Half, The Green Mile, Misery and Needful Things

Dark Half was a mediocre film, GM was good, Misery was decent, and NT sucked ass!

"The Shining" was a fantastic film, even though its not a very accurate adaptation. Same goes for De Palma's "Carrie". "Maximum Overdrive" was a steaming pile of dog turds, as was "Salem's Lot" (which is getting re-made this year).

I haven't seen anything like all of these.

Carrie and the Shining are, for me, easily the best. Misery close by.

I found Dolores Clairbourne shit. And i thought that was a great book.

Best:

"The Dead Zone" (The ultimate best)
"Misery"
"The Shawshank Redemption"
"Dolores Claiborne"

Worst:

The rest...

"The Shining" is a great movie, but after reading the novel I didn't think it was a good adaption...

I was so scared of 'Salem's Lot as a kid. I saw it a few years ago as an adult and was shocked at how bad it was! Not even remotely scary!!

I saw it when I was a kid and was scared shitless when that "Hutch" guy (can't remember his name) was taping together some cross in some hospital and there was this creepy vampire dude hanging outside the window...
But of course a couple of years later when I saw it again it was pretty lame and laughable...
Too bad actually, some movies are better left seen just once...

I've actually never seen it since I was a kid, and I don't remember much about it. I just remember not being able to sleep after seeing it. The book of course always freaked me out. The part when his friend is floating outside his bedroom window tapping on it and trying to get him to invite him in..... shake
