Y'know, I used to really love that show, but now I can hardly get through an episode. They've just run out of ideas. They probably should have ended the show when the movie came out, then done a film once every couple of years. The cripple fight is a recreation of an actual fight scene from the movie "They Live." I saw this on VH1 or some cable show and they showed a split screen of the cripple fight and the actual "They Live" fight. I'm serious, blow for blow it was on point. Here's a link to the SP cripple fight. [This message was edited Thu Mar 11 13:26:08 2004 by UptownDeb]

Fearless TV. I like it for that reason. At least they DON'T discriminate, every demographic is a target!

i guess i just haven't seen the show enough. the few times i've seen it, the butts of the jokes or the punchlines have all been focused on minorities. i guess if it's done in satire it is harmless. i dunno, just seems like its politically incorrect just for the fuck of it. now, those who know me know that i am so NOT politically correct (i mean, i made a joke about a picture with an asian guy holding a cat and it was deleted from the org)...i guess i just don't 'get' south park.

The thing with South Park, is while they make race jokes, you feel like it's not meant with any malice. If we're all targets, then we're all equal, I guese! "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"

I never really watched it when they've showed it on UK TV but I bought the DVD box set of the first series and I quite like it. Does Kenny die in every single episode that's ever been made?

I think all but one, right? The one from the first or second season when all the boys were standing around going, "Something doesn't feel right. This is weird", and it cuts to the credits. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

True That. I love South Park, I've been watching it since 1999 and find it to be highly amusing and much better then the Simpsons, which is becoming very, very dull. More people would enjoy South Park if they didn't allow their own demons, pride and paranoia to cover their eyes and close their minds. I't s just television people, life is too damn short to be taken too seriously.

It's hilarious! It's a talking hand! I was singing the song "I love you more than tacos" for days. I guess I can see how someone could find it offensive. But it's so over the top assinine, you just can't take it seriously.
i'm always humming that sexual harrassment panda song. Now it's stuck in my head! Fuck! It's satire. Because the characters are kids, people seem to register that. If they were adult characters, I think people would have a harder time with it. It's genius. I love South Park.

Teacher trying to get fired for being gay just about killed me. . .putting the hamster in Slave's ass as a science experiment in front of the class. . . My husband and I are always looking at each other and saying "Jesus Christ!" in Slave's whispery voice. I'm sure we're very annoying.

I was watching it with my parents (I hadn't watched it in about a year) and we were just shaking our heads the whole time and laughing about how gross it has gotten. The whole thing about, what was it, Lemmikins? or something and how he was trying to find his way out of the hole. Oh yeah, and the Museum of Tolerance. That was the best part.
