The Nikon Coolpix line is fantastic. I've been using them for 4 years now. They have one in practically every price range, but I wouldnt go any less than 4 megapixel if you can find one within your price range. | |

I've got one by Panasonic, the Lumix line, and it's nice and compact and light and has a rechargeable battery. I just hate the anti-flash thing and the zoom sucks my ass.
(Similar to this one.) My sister has a Canon and it takes really great photos, better than mind. It eats up batteries though, is quite heavy, and the memory cards hold almost no photos (whereas one of my cards holds over 1000 pictures!) 
I'm sorry I don't have model numbers or anything offhand, but I hope that helps you decide for the brand, anyway.

Gateway has started selling digital cameras and you can get a 5.0 megapixel digital camera for less then $300. I bought a Gateway and Im very happy with the results.
http://accessories.gatewa...htm?seg=hm Specifically check out this 4 mb camera with a free 128 mb card, tripod, battaries, and case that is $199 after mail in rebates. For the money you won't do better. I should say that this camera is the size of a traditional camera instead of the new mini ones, but I own it and I've taken some amazing photos with it http://accessories.gatewa...id=1532231 . My Bro has that camera.....it kicks ass.....however I would love to have the ones I use at work. Kodak DCS760 11 mega pixels.....but uhhh I aint got 7 G's sittin around.....and kodak discontinued it too  Fuckers! | |
