March 3, 1931

the US Senate made the song Star-Spangled Banner the National Anthem. I can't believe it was made in 1931 considering it was written in 1814 by Francis Key. Over 100 years and then it becomes the National Anthem.

At the top of my lungs.....ahem.....

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?.....

Dam that's pretty good. I don't think I know the first three lines. I like when rosane sang it at a baseball game.

What about Hendrix

The fucked thing is if Jimmi did the song today for the first time it probably would be considered a disgrace to the song. I could see that happening.
