I love Shakespeare's works. I can't think of many other writers, poets, dramatists etc who enjoy such universal respect and popularity. Admiration for Shakespeare unites all people, irrespesctive of age, politics, languare or religion. I think you only have to look at Baz Lurhmann's interpretation of Romeo and Juliet as an example of this. Such an example is what I find fascinating about Shakespeare's plays in that he addresses many issues which are archetypical of our present society-racism, betrayal, rape, death, envy, love and hate. Whether he actually wrote all of the 39 plays attributed is a contentious issue, however if such is the case, he is quite simply a genius.
