i know a girl who doesn't believe in shaving but she does shave her armpits. she says that shaving the armpits, unlike shaving the legs of the "area", is about cleanliness. i definitely agree.

Oh my!

Nothing like being in a salad line, and seeing a lady with loads of armpit hair reaching for a helping of whatever.

Gross!

Therapy you are rebellious.. but whatever makes you happy is good.

Thanks for asking Shanna mr.green

Health reasons = I saw on tv a while ago that studies of breast cancer tumours revealed traces of a chemical that's in anti-perspirent. Medically, there's something about shaving and soon after applying deodorant/anti-p, it gets into the lymph glands (?) easier.

Rebelling reasons = Who the fuck invented that women are supposed to be shaved? Why don't men do it? Why do women have to do it? Why have I looked at women walking down the street and grimaced in the past at a hairy pit? It's SOCIAL CONDITIONING MAN. It's all part of the uniformed supposed-to-be-like-this society and I feel like challenging myself over it!

Freespirit

giggle (this thread is still going strong) I "choose" to shave... simply because I am a clean/orderly (OCD) nut. smile As long as it is clean... visual appearance is not an issue for me.

Impenetrable body odor is my #1 reason, for nearly passing out... I can handle just about anything else set before me, except BO.

You go girl.

I actually find this attractive. I don't mind if people smell a little human, and I always prefer hair over stubble.

That said, I still shave everywhere that girls are "supposed" to. Social conditioning. disbelief

I'm starting on my armpits and working down!! At the mo, a big springy bush doesn't appeal to try out. Maybe I can compromise with myself. And thanx for your post. I don't mind if people smell a bit human either. BO is actually just bacteria. Apparently, rubbing lemons underarms or bicarbonate of soda kills bacteria, no need for B.Odorant. Although, I've yet to try.

Also, most anti-p's have ALUMINUM in which can cause fatal diseases...

I find underarm hair on women to be a big turn-off. I hear that's a big thing in France, though. Well, to each his own. shrug
