You work in the fashion industry!!! What do you do?

I am so jealous of you! Fashion is my passion (I really don't like how that rhymed, but I couldn't think of a more appropriate word than "passion"), and I went to Philadelphia University for a year majoring in fashion design and marketing before making a complete 180 on my career path (I'm now a nursing student, but think I want to go back to art school). I also took classes at FIT on weekends during my junior and senior years of high school.

If you don't mind me asking, what does your boyfriend do?

If you're looking for a good place to stay for reasonable money I can recommend the Hotel Palym. It's a quaint little hotel opposite Gare de Lyon, just at the edge of the Latin quarter, lovely part of the city.

As has been mentioned it's fashion week, so if you still need accommodation I would book it right now if I were you. I booked flights for Paris 3 years ago without realising it was fashion week. I found it impossible to get accommodation in any place for more than one night (we were planning to stay 4 nights). The best I could manage was 2 different hotels for 2 of the nights, I couldn't find anything at all for the other 2. I spent the best part of a day trying (through the internet, through travel agents and through the visit France office). We ended up cancelling.

So fingers crossed you won't have the same problems I did.

Ohmygod... my sister and I stayed at this hotel right next to the Pantheon... it was called Hotel du Pantheon! Imagine that!

lol

Really nice, 3 or 4 stars, very quaint. We ate snails at a restaurant right down the street. I think it's in the Latin Quarter.

Skip the Eiffel Tower, it sucks! Be sure to go to the Louvre... fucking AMAZING... and hit up the Rodin Museum. Musee d'Orsay was rad too and I HATE museums!

They're owned by the same people! And they also own the (cheaper) Hotel Sorbonne down the road off Victor Cousin. I'm so bad with French spelling. redface
