There was one movie my friend rented. It was awful, don't know the title. It was about a group of young people whose vehicles were stopped on a highway. This girl could foresee their deaths and prevented it. Well death visited each one of those that should have died and they died in various ways which was quite disturbing.

I saw a similar kind of movie last night called "Dead End"... Boring as hell, but what's with all these kind of movies popping up now?
Are they really THAT clueless in Hollywood?

For me, it would have to be "The Cook The Thief His Wife and Her Lover" and for a more recent horror flick - Ringu - The Japanese version. The American remake was too hollywood.

oh yes DANCER IN THE DARK was disturbing

i saw it on DVD and just HAD to skip certain parts, like when Selma kills and gets killed.

Oh...I dont need 2 bother watching it now then seen as u have given away pivotal plot points Chris!!! chair rolleyes

I'd go for: 'Faces of Death' - I know this is gonna sound fucking lame, but when i was a young and impressionable teenager I used 2 hang with this older 'metal' crowd - long story short, this 'film' got put on one night, and It really unnerved me - but I couldnt get up and leave, cuz they were taking the piss that I couldnt take it and all that crap, so I had all these shitty images imprinted on my mind...like that poor fucking monkey getting its skull smashed in with a mallet after being locked in2 that table with a hole in so it couldnt move...TRULY fucking disturbing and exploitative SHIT.

It still messes with me if I think about it. Some fucked up bastards out there.

sorry about that 'nana... tis still worth seeing it because of the songs though and the great camerawork.

I remember that pods movie Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, the b/w version I saw at age 7....

That was fucked up, could not sleep for weeks

yes, kevin mccarthy (rip).. then the remake when donald sutherland turned around at the end, pointed and went (you know the sound)...it happened again!

Other movies that scared the crap outta me:

1) Let's Scare Jessica to Death. Stupid TV movie I begged my mom at age 6 or 7 in like 76 or 77. She let me and it scared me to death.

2) Freddie parts 1 - 3: cuz getting to me in my dreams AND you're a funny killer. Now that got to me. Cuz even my asthmatic behind could outrun Jason & Michael.

3) For some reason, The Dead Zone w/MartinSheen & I can't remember who the star was! Scared me to death and reminds me of Bush!

4) The Entity: not only was it a willful ghost, BUT IT FOLLOWED HER ACROSS THE COUNTRY

5) Enemy of the State: was scared to pick up the phone.

6) The Exorcist, rereleased in 2002 (?). Couldn't sleep w/the lights off for a week...and I was 33 years old! Much more suspenseful.

I just finished reading it. I think I've seen parts of this before because it sounds really familiar. I recognize the poster/cover for the video.

DETAIL DETAILS!!

Do you mean Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom from 1975 directed by Pasolini....Indeed, this film is disturbing, mostly because similar tortures are still carried out today, under fascist regimes; when absolute power is given to one person, or a small group of people, carries the danger of absolute corruption. Through absolute corruption, the depths of evil are endless. This is the true message of both Pasolini's film and the Marquis De Sade's novel. And like the Marquis De Sade, Pasolini chooses satire as his vehicle to convey this message. Black humor at its finest!.....

Jacobs Ladders story is incredible, and Tim Robbins long before "Mystic River" played one of his best roles. Music, story, photography are exceptional. Dream or reality, both are mixed in a subtle game. There are some movies that really set a great precedent, and "Jacob's Ladder" is a leading example. Long before movies like "The Sixth Sense" or "The Others" "What Lies Beneath" or "Unbreakable" were out, "Jacob's Ladder" was one of the first movies to play so artfully with combinations of the natural and the paranormal, the real and the surreal, and most importantly, a movie that manages to bring you completely by surprise in the end, by making everything seen up to that point shown in a different perspective. The film is full of symbolisms, which are capable to be grasped by someone only if he/she sees the movie more than once. It is not a horror movie, yet there are some scenes that can definitely scare you quite much.....
