This is for all my fellow geeks here on the Org! This bat-flick is sounding so good! Will we finally get Batman done right on the big screen? Looks like a definite possibility!

First off, there's this tidbit:The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Ken Watanabe, Oscar-nominated for "The Last Samurai", will square off against Christian Bale in Chris Nolan's Batman!

Watanabe will play the villainous Ra's Al Ghul, an immortal strategic mastermind who wants to bring his own brand of order to the world.

He joins Bale, cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman; Michael Caine as Wayne's trusted butler Alfred; Katie Holmes as a childhood friend of Wayne's; Liam Neeson as Wayne's mentor Henri Ducard; and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, a former board member and sidelined employee of Wayne Enterprises.

Cinescape has received word from a reliable scooper on more Batman details. Here's a clip about the casting of Gordon...

Dennis Quaid is "close" to being signed for the part of Jim Gordon, the Gotham City beat cop that will one day become police Commissioner. Gordon has an important role to play in the picture. One might even say that fate will deal him -- and subsequently the Dark Knight -- a card that sets the course for their future and that of Gotham City.

I've said this in your last Batman thread, but I LOVE Christian Bale! I can't wait to see his sexy ass in that black rubber suit!

From what I've heard about the movie and it's plot, it does sound very good. The more I
hear, the more confidant I am that they're actually gonna do a really interesting and
worthwhile movie with this one... can't wait!
