I don't think Rosa Parks gets enough credit for the Civil Rights Movement. Not to take anything away from Dr. Martin Luthur King but the Spark that started the fire was from this women right here Rosa Parks.

when i was little i used to adore harriet tubman! every presentation or book report i did was on her. she was truly an intelligent and inspirational woman. I really admire her for going through hell (to put it lightly) and then using that experience to help others instead of letting it eat her up and making her bitter.

I think she does, actually...although it tends to be couched within the moment and the act, moreso than standing out on its own.

She helped african american slaves escape slavery in the United States. A lot of them escaped to Canada where their present day ancestors live today. She was very brave.

I think there are a lot of heros that need to be reconized by today's youth. The only problem is that we as a society are focused on the big lights of hollywood: superstar athletes, musicians, and actors rather than the integredity of people like Harriet Tubman
