It seems like whenever I am with someone i REALLY like, I'm willing to forsake everyone and everything else. I think about them rather than the things I have to do, and invariably important things fall by the wayside. I am starting to feel like maybe I should be with someone I like but am not crazy in love with just because I won't be tempted to shut everything else out. Does anyone else feel like this or am I alone on this one? Sigh.....

i think a lot of people either have or still do function the way you're talking about but it's not best in the long run - as you say yourself. i believe we need to remain centered in ourselves, our goals, our plans, our stuff. I think it's cool to NOT have a romantic relationship sometime so you can just focus on yourself, your own stuff in life, your own enjoyment, and a wider circle of friends -- relationships/friendships are awesome -- learning to work out issues with each relationship you have and issues within oneself is fun and great foundation for that next romantic relationship.
