My Beagle is sick We brought our beagle into the vet to get checked because for a few months now, she's been drinking tons of water and urinating like every 15-20 minutes, and her stomach was swollen.
After a few tests, the vet now thinks it may be "Cushings Disease". Basically, a tumor, that causes too much of a certain chemical (cortisol?) to be released in her body to the point where it's toxic to them. I'm reading about this and it says it typically only happens in old dogs, yet she's only 4 years old. Has anyone on here dealt with the treatment or seen its effects on their dog? How successful was it?

How successful was it? That is very young. I work at a vet clinic, and we've treated lots of dogs for Cushings. They generally do fine. It just tends to require a fair amount of monitoring. If you don't already really like your vet, find one that you do like, 'cause you're gonna need to be friends. Good luck!
