Industrial Action

I'm thinking about taking some kind of industrial action against my company if they do not give me what i demand (which by the way, is only fair).
basically, i have been doing two jobs (mine and my former manager's job) on a one job salary. i have demanded another salary on top of the salary i will get anyway. my idea is to just stop working in the middle of a busy night and down tools. my staff (which is around 15 have also said they will follow me). on top of it, there is no one else in the company who can do my job at the moment so the advantage would seem to be mine.

what do you guys think?
any anachists out there?

Do you belong to a Union? I wouldn't do anything without consulting your Union rep.

But you'll also probably get fired, no? Sure you could fight it in court, but you wouldn't be entitled to Union representation.

You might feel you are well within your rights, but I think your management may have a hard time seeing it that way. I would only do something so drastic if you feel you've explored every other option in talking to them about what you deserve to be paid. I know if someone did that where I work they would be against severe disciplinary action, whether they had someone else who could perform the position or not. I would try talking to them further first. Site all examples of what you do, show them how valuable you are and let them know you've been applying for other positions outside of that company to be paid what you are deserved. If after all that they aren't willing to budge, well then, I'd start looking for another job. But that's just me. smile
