I have seen Minority Report on Friday and it realy sucks...i realy dont see what people see in this freegin film...Another disappointing effort that literally drowns itself in cliché. There is nothing original in the plot, and worse, in the special effects which actually seemed to be done on the cheap. Didn't I see the same gravity cars in Fifth Element? The concept is provocative, but nothing is done with it. It very quickly turns into Witness meets The Fugitive meets Blade Runner meets Total Recall meets Clockwork Orange. You know who the bad guys are; we've seen it all done so many times before. One gets the feeling that Spielberg sees himself as the successor to Kubrick, as he attempts to play with the lighting in a vain attempt to dazzle you with image. He can't pull it off, and really shouldn't try to. A.I. redeemed itself with the final half hour of footage. This film had no such redemption in fact the resolution is the most overdone clichéd part of it all. ...A good idea poorly executed: Plain and Simple. As far as staying true to the spirit of Philip K. Dick's writings and themes, I won't criticize what isn't in the film, only what is.

i dunno. i'm not a big Tom Cruise film and i enjoyed it. i even read the short story afterwards.

It's one of the few Tom Cruise flicks that I actually enjoyed. He oozes narcissism, most of the time. Matter of fact, he still owes me for that "Magnolia" weirdness.

I think Tom Cruise's best performance to date was " Color of Money".....

imo, all Spielberg movies from the 90s onwards have
been kinda sucky..there were great moments in
"Schindler List" but I don´t consider it to be a great
masterpiece that many like to claim

But the real issue here is the true horrible story of the jews in europe of the 1940's.. U can see in this film the true horror and humiliation that the jews had suffered. Truly Spielberg's best work with a very important lesson.
But if we all start ranking his films from 1-10 from 10....this is how i would rank them...

I thought it was pretty good until the last 10 minutes, when Spielberg decided to dump a vat of saccharin on the audience. "Let's skip, skip, skip through the fields of corn..." And i know about the mythology; that's no excuse.

But i'd still give it a 7.5 / 8.

Much better than AI anyway.

I completely agree with your review, with the exception of you saying "AI" redeemed itself in the last thirty minutes. That was the most painful part of an already excruciatingly bad movie.

Lucky enough he was in the hands of a master, a MR. SCORSESE, to nail out (in the end) a good plausible performance! Newman was a proper "dappa' dan" in the movie though!

It didnt suck, but it wasnt the greatest... I think its funny how someone actually got un-nerved by this

The news for Indis new film is that George Lucas is delaying the filming of Indiana Jones 4 - because he's unhappy with the script. The Star Wars director, who's acting as executive producer alongside director Steven Spielberg, is allegedly dissatisfied with the screenplay handed in by Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont. And it now seems the sequel's projected 2005 release date is unlikely to be met, with shooting on the Harrison Ford-starring movie now likely to start next year instead.....
