We have a ghost cat in our house.

I've seen it six or seven times.We moved into our current house ten years ago. The back door into the kitchen at the time had a cat flap, we had one cat at the time, since then we took in a stray so that made two. obviously they both used the cat flap (as did other cats on occasions) It was because of that we decided to get rid of the doors. Our cats were very terrritorial and would come in an rip the hell out of intruder cats.Usually.

One evening in January '96, i was sat in my living room when i heard an unholy screaming noise coming from the kitchen, i leapt up out of the sofa to investigate and to my total non-suprise sat by the back door was a mangy looking cat with a cataract in it's right eye. What did surprise me was my other two cats, one was way on up on top of the freezer and the other was on top of the kitchen cupboards. They were backed up out of the way. their hair was on end and their tales were bushed up like a foxes, and it was them making the horrible wailing noises. i was a bit freaked cause they don't normally act like that.

Anyway, i yelled at the intruder cat to shoo and it just looked at me for maybe ten seconds. then turned and went out of the catflap, cool as you like. It took a moment to register but i as sure that i didn't actually see the cat flap move.

My cats were still up on high making a row.It was a really horrible, freakish feeling.My back was getting chills up it.I told my wife about it and she just thought i was at the time, not now she doesn't!

A couple of years passed before i saw it again.Same position, same thing happened.

My stepson knew of it before me though. He shuts his bedroom door at bedtime, he remembers, when he was about 11 waking up on a winter morning to a purring on his bed. reaching down in the dark he assumed it was our cat so he tried to stroke it. Except there was nothing there, only a purring noise. our cats were downstairs at the time i'd just fed them and let them out. It's weird, if that had been me i'd have ran out the bedroom screaming. He didn't mention it til about two years later when i encountered it myself. He just shrugged and said he'd seen it loads of times!

since then we've had our doors replaced and there is no cat flap. yet every so often, we see this cat in our kitchen, i've yet to see how it enters and leaves our house, (i'd guess it comes in where the flap used to be) but it does and we leave it to it.It's just there and then it isn't. We know it's there when Felix (our one remaining cat) starts growling in the living room for no apparent reason.

As it usually appears this time of year, i've had my camcorder i got for Xmas working overtime at about 11pm every night in the kitchen. Not got it on camera though yet. truth be told it's been a couple of years since it's been seen or heard.

Just to finish. When we first moved into the house there was a dead sycamore tree at the bottom of the garden, we had that chopped down. We were going to get it taken out roots and all but decided against it when our elderly neighbour told us the previous occupier had buried his dead pets somewhere around where the tree stood. A dog and a cat. I don't think we disturbed anything but you never know. My neighbours description of the cat was exactly as i thought it would be as soon as i asked the question. The cat was blind in one eye, the right.It got killed crossing the road outside my house.

Scary huh? but true. Every last word.

i totally believe, we had something similar in our old house, only happened upstairs in either my mother or brothers room (a litter of kittens was killed by a tomcat that came in our backdoor one day in my mothers closet where they were born ) at any rate, it was the feeling of a cat walking on your bed at night, however, there was never a cat to be seen. crazy but true

I have some simular stories to tell you, but, about our ranch in a small town in Paso Robles... all kinds of freaky-deaky shit like that...

I have had similar ex. but in all of mine the cat is just a spirit taking on a diff form, and yes they can do this! My friend from highschool lived in an old farm house and had two cats, one of which was totally black, I saw it head for the kitchen and thought that maybe it wanted out, so I followed it in and when I got there it was gone and no where for it to diss. too. I found out the next morning when I told her about it and she said that a child had died in the house. We tried to do a rite for the child spirit to try and give it peace but I don't think it worked.

Any other ghost stories out there?
