Star Wars Episode 3 taking shape!

Look! eek it's almost a stormtrooper. Excellant!

I also downloaded some stolen footage last week, which was pretty exciting. looking forward to the duel between Obi Wan and Anakin. Apparently it's going to be the longest sword fight in movie history at 12 minutes.

Ewan's mentioned he had well over 1000 moves in it and it was the most tiring thing he's ever had to do.

May 2005 can't come quick enough for me!

The PT has taken alot of stick, but to be honest i enjoyed Clones. I saw a lot coming together in it, I think 3's going to redeem the PT completely.I reckon ILM are going to pull all the stops out to try and rival LOTR visually. I bet after all those years at the forefront of special effects, they were stung to be surpassed by Gollum and Co.

lookout for Darth Vader everywhere you go next year. It's going to be like the late seventies, early eighties all over again. big grin

I just hope it is better than the last 2 big piles of poo.

I do really want this one to be good. The story certainly has the best potential i.e the decent of Anakin to the darkside.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Why do they have viewmasters on their helmets?

Ahh, so finally they have advanced from those poncy lightsabres to proper swords then.

I kind of agree with Marrk. I think the best aspect of the 2 prequels has been the rise of Sidious/Palpatine. That plotline has had a lot of different layers. I also think the saber duels in Ep I and the Jango/Obi-Wan confrontations in Ep II were good.

But the CGI overkill seems to have drained the actors of any emotions and the direction has been bad. Too much time is spent on too many dumb angles (the pod race and the awful romantic storyline, which would be better if the actors had any chemistry).

I'm hoping that III is better than II just as II was better than I.

Well, from what I've been reading, Ep III should be even more action packed than Ep II. There's no room for any lulls because too much has to happen!! My pals and I will be there opening night to not only enjoy the film but to people watch as well. We've got some wannabe Jedi out here, and they come out swingin' cheap imitation sabers, wearing their mother's bath robes, and trying to use jedi mind tricks to get free snacks. It'll be an event!!
