(and if you're really bored, give me a title) Well, as you asked, I don't think you actually knew what you were trying to say when you did it but it is an expression of loss, sadness, and uncontrollable sobbing. Here's what you were thinking when you drew it : Your were sitting there cross-legged reminiscing about the other day... When you were on your way to work and saw a beautiful sunflower in the distance. "A sunflower? In winter?", you thought. "That'll make a great photo!". So you pulled over and got out of your car to get a clear shot. Just as you were getting out a fed-ex fan came careening towards you, skidding out of control. You pissed yourself and dropped your camera in shock. At the last moment the fed-ex driver regained control and avoided you. You looked down through the fog of your own rising steam to see your camera in bits on the road. You sank to your knees and sobbed uncontrollably... Musing about the regrettable loss of your favourite camera you started sketching a sunflower, the sunflower. Outkast's 'Roses' comes on your jukebox (you were in too fragile a mood due to the recent loss of your favourite obscura digitalis to choose any music to suit your mood, so you just clicked on AutoDJ). Hearing 'Roses' inspired you to adorn the sunflower with a thorny rose stalk. Thinking about your ocular outburst you began to wonder about the last time you had sobbed uncontrollably... and remembered that it was when you were a kid, when your mum refused to let you take synchronised swimming lessons, and told you to "do something boys do, like football, or photography". Hence the synchronised swimmers legs motif instead of sunflower petals. 'Baby, I'm A Star' comes on your jukebox and you start thinking about the first time you saw Prince, and those ridiculous high heels. You then start drawing Prince-like heels on the swimmers legs to cover up those feet, which, quite frankly, looked like bunches of deformed bananas. Et Voila! In a flurry of creativity you complete your drawing, upload it and post it on the org. Moments after you realise that you have the perfect name for it : "Synchronised Swum Flower" And there you have it! Oh, and it's really good. Thank you for sharing it. I'm going to cut'n'paste it (with your permission of course) and add it to my gallery of cool stuff (which I look at whilst listening to music). :O You nailed it. :O There u go, there's a title for it. When I made my post about the dullness of the org, and called for talented, witty, interesting orgers to step up, this is what I was talking about. This kind of thing inspires people. Byron, don't underestimate the effect that something simple like this can achieve. | |

Cool! I agree. Thank you Byron for inspiring me to write some (hopefully) witty and interesting rambling. I like to think it'll put a few smiles on faces. At the very least I enjoyed writing it! Oh, and I hope you weren't insulted or annoyed by it, that certainly wasn't my intention anyway. I know you don't know me, and I don't know you, but I do know from what I've seen during my few months here so far that you're an outstanding photographer, and now also that you're a great artist, and an inspiration. Is that too gushy? When I made my post about the dullness of the org, and called for talented, witty, interesting orgers to step up, this is what I was talking about.
