I'm pretty good now since I talk with my wife's parents and brothers and sisters all the time. I think I'll give the writing and reading another shot. I know what u mean about the doodling. I like to doodle the numbers everywhere. Yeah, the barbecue's going to be great. They've moved into a new apartment overlooking a lake- it's perfect for a beer and some chatting with another westerner. I tried my best to pick up Thai from the teachers at my school, and from a friend who didn't speak any English but spoke amazingly clear Thai. I don't know my written numbers! I've got this theory about Beer Chang in Singapore: it's Carlsburg. The English-label export 'Beer Chang' comes from the same factory as Singapore's Carlsburg (in Thailand), they're both the same strength (5%) and I can't tell the difference in a taste test. Chang is a dollar cheaper though, and that's appreciated. I can believe that. Same company so who knows? 5%? It's stronger than that here. Does it look the same? I drank Guinness in Malaysia, although it was labeled as Foreign Extra and was 8%, and it was terrible!

Yeah, that Foreign Extra is a bit much, especially in this climate. I feel hungover before finishing a single bottle of it. Strangely enough both Carlsburg and Chang are also brewed in Malaysia but Singapore imports them from Thailand. It's probably something to do with taxes. They sell the normal, stronger, beer Chang here too. What's the Thailand beer scene like this year? There seem to be a whole plethora of short-lived cheaper beers, right? Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

Yep, "Thai Beer" and a few others. I've been drinking a Japanese beer called Asahi. Not too expensive. I used to drink a lot of Beer Chang and I do still drink it sometimes, especially when I go to a bar because it's often a lot cheaper, but normally I'll drink Singha or Heineken when I go out.

I've got to get over to Bangkok and sample the beers again - we've only been once in the last 18 months. I'm hoping the subway gets started first so I can have a ride on that.
Well, the beer is over, and a new one's just begun.. actually, it hasn't because there's none left. Night. Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.
