Do you believe in the supernatural?

According to a recent Gallup poll, 11% of the U.S. population believes in supernatural entities

Hmmm. Good question.

I do not believe in anything which can not in some way be explained through science & nature.

However, I do accept that there are phenomena in this world which we cannot comprehend through science YET.

So, I do not dismis the possibility of, for example, telepathy or apparitions but I do believe that if they exist then they can one day be understood.

I think the level headed way to deal with such matters is to neither dismis them or accept them. After all, what the bloody hell do we know?

I do not believe in something that is not part of nature in some way, which to me is what the term 'supernatural' suggests.

Fair enough?

this thread made me think of this book:Demon-Haunted World by Ann Druyan Carl Sagan

Amazon link & review:
http://www.amazon.com/exe...51-3160104
Eminent Cornell astronomer and bestselling author Sagan debunks the paranormal and the unexplained in a study that will reassure hardcore skeptics but may leave others unsatisfied. To him, purported UFO encounters and alien abductions are products of gullibility, hallucination, misidentification, hoax and therapists' pressure; some alleged encounters, he suggests, may screen memories of sexual abuse. He labels as hoaxes the crop circles, complex pictograms that appear in southern England's wheat and barley fields, and he dismisses as a natural formation the Sphinx-like humanoid face incised on a mesa on Mars, first photographed by a Viking orbiter spacecraft in 1976 and considered by some scientists to be the engineered artifact of an alien civilization. In a passionate plea for scientific literacy, Sagan deftly debunks the myth of Atlantis, Filipino psychic surgeons and mediums such as J.Z. Knight, who claims to be in touch with a 35,000-year-old entity called Ramtha. He also brands as superstition ghosts, angels, fairies, demons, astrology, Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster and religious apparitions.

Everyone is 'supernatural' - it's not all this pie in the sky type of thing, it is about realising self as God (or whatever you call it, Universal Energy, Love, Truth, Life etc.etc) - and to be supernatural is to be in harmony with the life-force/energy in the most natural normal ways. No telepathy... no levitating... Just to be aware of self, in the moment. That's supernatural.

Although nothing has happened to me YET...

Something DID happen to a good friend of mine.
Understand, he's not the type that would pull
my leg...he saw a figure of a man at the top
of his staircase, and ran all the way to his
mother's workplace, where he stayed the rest of
the night. He also had those coconut monkey faces
hanging in his room, he told me their facial
expressions changed on him one night...
among other instances...

I believe!
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
