Beth says "Chocolate Chip lovers beware! These irresistible cookies are my own recipe, and they are nice and thick, soft and chewy, and absolutely hard to resist!" Consistent 5 star rating on the site, should be great. AllRecipes never lets me down. 2/3 cup butter flavored shortening 2/3 cup butter, softened 1 cup white sugar 1 cup packed light brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2 In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips. Use a measuring tablespoon to round dough into balls. Don't roll the balls, just make them rounded. Place onto ungreased baking sheets. 3 Bake 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until centers are set and very lightly browned. Don't overbake. Cool 2 to 3 minutes before removing from baking sheets. Make sure you have lots of ice cold milk!!! Makes 72 servings

Byron said: Whew...I was afraid you'd post a recipe for "Lazy Turd Cookies"... :O Lazy Turd Cookies You will need: 1. A Lazy Turd (simply go to the toilet when you really can't be bothered and let the turd just drop out of it's own accord - that's what you call a lazy turd). 2. Orange juice. Method: 1. Fish the turd out of the toilet pan. 2. Vomit. 3. Add vomit to the cookie mix. 4. Add orange juice. 5. Lose interest in the whole thing and follow Haystack's previous recipe.

Reviews are mixed...maybe take some of the suggestions there such as using 4 cups flour for a more cakey texture or using white chocolate or butterscotch or peanut butter chips. Be prepared they may not last more than a day. Keep an eye on them as they cook, etc. [This message was edited Tue Feb 3 16:27:31 PST 2004 by conch5184]
