In recent weeks, many orgers and former orgers were invited to participate in a beta test that was being set up for a message board. Amongst the site were such controversial Orgers as Icenine and Chemmie. I was invited to participate as well. Since I have VEHEMENTLY oppossed the lack of free speech on this site, I saw no problem whatsoever with participating in the activities on the other site. Many times I have disagreed with these orgers in the past, but I've always felt they had a right to say whatever they wanted. I have a very ACLU-like view on free-speech, so I advocate people's rights to say what they want, even if I strongly disagree with it. I also have a very sick sense of humour, so the idea of an un-moderated site was appealing to me.

Early on, it became apparrent that the creator of the site was only inviting those people whom he felt had "thick skins", i.e., those whom he knew would not automatically assume that everything on the site was being said with serious intent. Since many of the orgers invited were accussed of 'racism' on this site in the past, the mood very quickly became one of mocking this concept. I participated in this mocking, even when it was directed at me and my jewish heritage (I knew that those giving me grief were NOT serious, and I freely flung back nasty comments to them as well). I participated in multiple "flame wars" with orgers like icenine, just like I used to back when he was an active orger. I've always respected Ice, even when we strongly disagree (some of you with long memories will remember threads that went on and on where we debated religious, racial and political issues). I've always stuck by Icenine's right to say how he feels, even if I was arguing against it. I don't think freedom of speech should be, in any way, regulated. Its an all or nothing concept. You either have the right to say what you want, or you don't. This is the difference between a democracy and a totalitarian state.

The creator of this site asked all participating to keep it a secret for a couple of reasons: First off, it was a site in Beta-testing, and it was not intended for high traffic. Secondly, he wanted the people involved to be able to visit without retaliation from those whom he knew would not understand it (i.e., those people who would interpret everything as being serious, instead of the ironic nature that it was intended). Some of this may offend those not invited, but that is the precise reason you probably weren't invited. If you were even slightly capable of being offended, or you just didn't get irony, you were not invited at all.

It has been said that the threads were 'racist'. Well, I tend to disagree. Sure, racial comments were made, but mostly in the spirit of those former orgers mocking themselves, and their reputations on this site. Likewise, it has been said that the threads were "homophobic". Once again, I have to disagree, since Supa and Aaron, two openly gay men, were active participants. The so-called "gay bashing" was either Supa giving the straight guys a hard time, or the straight guys giving each other a hard time. Never once was there any true 'gay bashing', or real attacks made against any minority groups. All the jokes made were just that, jokes. I myself started a thread featuring "offensive" jokes (a thread I once tried to start here, and had locked within five seconds). This thread featured jokes making fun of everything from pedophilia to race. Now, for one minute, does anyone honestly say that they believe I endorse pedophilia? If you do think that, then you are truly mentally challenged. For me, sick jokes are a way of dealing with the nastiness in the world. I myslef make Jew jokes all the time, and I am PART JEWISH! (I am also part Irish, and plenty of drunken irish jokes were made as well) Does this mean I hate my own race? No, it means I can laugh at myself. It means I can also join you in laughing at your own race, or the perceptions others have of your race. This is the concept of irony, and ironic humour, which seems to escape many people on the Org these days.

The one bit of seriousness that was made over at that site, was the fact that there seems to be a double standard on this site. Racial comments and flames can be made by certain individuals, and nothing happens to them, while others are instantly snipped, locked and banned for similar offences. This double standard I have spoken out against NUMEROUS times on the Org, and it has always fallen on deaf ears (in fact, almost everytime I have said something about this, it has been removed). While I'm not so sure that this is something that has only been directed at white orgers, as some feel, it does seem a bit suspicious (besides, how can you tell what race someone is on a website? For all we know, most of the "black" posters on the org could really be white guys in disguise, hurling racial remarks at their own race. While I find this unlikely, it illustrates my point that you really shouldn't take all this too seriously.)


I'm sure that I will be flamed, very openly. I'm sure I will be labled 'racist', 'homophobic' and every other name in the book. This is fine, since I believe you have the right to feel this way about me, and you have the right to express it. I've always been quite fair of my assesments of things here, and I dont think I've ever shown myself to be any of these things. I am guilty of having a VERY sick sense of humour, and I may laugh at things that others find repulsive. This doesn't mean that I endorse the things I laugh at (if that were the case, then every person who makes a Michael Jackson joke is actually endorsing him molesting young boys. Is anyone here ignorant enough to really believe this is the case?).

I think the Org has become way too stuffy, and people over here have become way too sensitive. Does this mean I don't like the Org? No. For all of its faults, I still love this place. I have many friends here, and I like interacting with them (likewise, some of my friends, who are not allowed on here anymore were at the other site, and I wanted the chance to interact with them. If it meant keeping it a secret, then so be it). I stay on here, because I still have hope for this place, much in the way that many folks who don't much care for Prince still follow what he does. Just because you don't 100% agree with something, doesn't mean you don't still like it.

In conclusion, I would like to give you the following analogy: The Org is one big, dysfunctional family. We, like most families, argue, fuss and fight, even though we actually love each other. Some of our family members have said some things at our gatherings that have pissed off other family members. Now, two wings of the family aren't speaking, with some of us stuck in the middle. Those of us in the middle still hang out with both wings of the family, because we still believe in the family. We aren't playing both sides, but rather we are staying out of the argument all together (although we do like to give some of these folks some grief for their disagreements). Sure, we may feel that Uncle Matt is too strict in his house, but we still like Uncle Matt (besides, that's where cousin Cborgman hangs out, and he's a lot of fun. Right now he's got an argument going with cousin Aaron, so he isn't even invited over to Uncle Ice's house, where Aaron now lives). I wanna be able to see ALL of my family, even if it means I have to keep it on the DL to avoid a big fight at Thanksgiving.

I ask that the moderators take no action against those who wish to hurl "flames" at me. I'm an adult, and I can handle it (and, again, you have a right to express yourself as well).

Unless people know eachother personnaly outside this side; I wouldn't bother too much about remarks and opinions. React to them if you want to, but leave it there. Most of us don't have anything more then a cyber-relation through this site or mail with the other person. I can tell you from experience that explaining or reacting to topics through mail or forum gets out of hand very easely.

If the moderators here want to be strict -unjustified or not; so be it. If those excluded or restricted want to have a laugh, conversation,vent or joke in their own place; so be it.

There are tons of sites on the web that truly are managed and supported by real homophobics, racists etc... but no mention of those here. Let's just face it that it hurts when you thought you excluded what thought is "bad" and it kicks you in the balls when you least suspected it.

If you can't deal with their sense of humour sarcasm etc... don't go there.

I have had the stupidest accusations at times, based on a single mail... so I try not to judge to easely by what they write on a site or in a mail.
