Just in case you haden't heard, it was offically announced this morning that the Star Wars trilogy is FINALLY coming to DVD. It'll be a four disc set, the fourth including a new 2 hour documentary, and never before seen behind the scenes footage -- oh yeah, and THX, surround, remastered, blah blah blah.

I think it's rather disappointing that these movies only get one bonus disc of extras--each move should be a 2-disc set. In other words, Lucas is holding back.

A big negative s that these are the "special editions" with the cartoony cgi added. So are the extras going to be , say, the trailers from the original releases, or the re-releases of 1997?

I think these dvd's are just going to be released to make some easy $$$ and hype up the new prequil because the public at large has given up hope for the new films.

I'm sure there will be a better "superset" of all 6 movies in a box with more enticing extras in a couple of years.I'll wait for that.
