I'd hate to think what would happen here in those temps, we just had -5 with snow and the whole of London came to a stand still. I can't actually imagine what -43 feels like.

Incidently, how cold does it have to be to freeze a tauntaun?

lol

pretty damn cold, but I'm not sure zactly what temp can freeze a tauntaun

lol

yeah, this is the kinda cold that skin literally freezes within seconds of air contact...according to the radio, there are stalled cars EVERYWHERE, cos even if you get your car to start, it's no guarantee that it'll stay running...I have to sit in my cold ass car for 10 minutes before it's warmed-up enough to be ready to drive...

BLECCCH...well, it's been years since we've had temps THIS cold for consecutive days, so I'm tryina remember that this won't happen again for a while...

...frozen brain edit....

one plus about these temps, fashion goes out the window...

I'm wearing 2 pairs of socks, boxers, long underwear, jeans, a tshirt, long underwear shirt on top of that and a sweater on top of that...

before going outside, I'll throw on boots, "smoking gloves" with bigger gloves over them and my huge-ass army-issue parka

loverly... smile

where are the rest of my local kitties to commiserate with? frozen in a snowbank???

Ya know something, I heard this from KingSausage yesterday and I don't wanna hear it again! It's been so cold in New England this whole month. We actually had schools cancelled because the wind chill was -45 degrees and it was too cold for kids to wait for the bus. New England isn't supposed to be colder than MPLS...so shut it!

yikes, it's been a bad winter everywhere

I can take a day of this weather, but when we get into multiple day stretches deep below zero I start freaking out...

One bad thing about MN, is it's "supposed" to be like this, so things rarely get canceled due to the cold. I can remember 1 day in the last 10 years when things shut down due to the cold...

Even if the entire state closed because of the cold I'd still have to come to work. We don't ever close ever ever ever. disbelief

Neither do we. The time we got 2 feet of snow we were still open. And what sucks is that because I work at a private school the city doesn't plow our area because we don't pay taxes. They'll do a quick sweep but that's it. And there are so many hills around here, I have to park my car 6 blocks away just so I don't get stuck!

Oh man, this is why I have no intention of ever moving up north again! I like Texas winters, where a "cold front" gets you down into the fifties!!

I had enough of that snow crap when I lived in the circle of Hell known as Omaha! NEVER AGAIN!!!
