How long do you keep your clothes?

I have been putting together a photo album of my life and I had my Grandma hunting for specific pictures for me so today when I stopped over at her house she handed me one of my senior pictures. I took the picture and looked at it and started laughing because I was wearing the same shirt that I was in the picture. Now that's a coincedance.

I am 29 years old meaning that the shirt was probably at least 11. So is it sad to wear a shirt for that long?

Actually the other day I was thinking that I have been wearing my main winter coat for like 6 or 7 years now. I have a ton of coats but I have been wearing the same coat nearly every day for years now.

I love the coat because it's so warm and I love the colors but is it time to throw it out just because it's old?

Also, I need to add for my pride's sake that I actually probably own more clothes then any other guy in the world. I am continually shopping for clothes but I don't seem to ever throw out the old ones.

Not really. As long as it's not full of holes and you're wearing it out in public (I'm assuming you don't have to - some have no choice), I don't see what's wrong with it. Some raggedy clothing I keep specifically to do work around the house over the years, i.e. painting and yardwork. And some is just too raggedy, only useful as rags.

I keep them a long time. I stop wearing the shirts after awhile, but I love to keep my jeans with holes in them. I just patched/stitched up about 6 pairs the other day. I think I only have maybe 3 pair that haven't needed mending. I hope it doesn't make me look shabby. I just like the look/feel of mended jeans, because it takes me so long to break them in in the first place. smile

I've got a leather jacket that I keep wearing, and I've had it for the past 10 years.
What can I say? I like it.

I've got sweaters that my mom made for me, and I still have them after many years.

As long as they are still good, I'll wear'em. I'm more concerned about staying warm, and spend money I don't have just to stay in style.

Lets put it this way...If I was an old high school bud of yours and I hadn't seen you in 11 years, then suddenly ran into you and noticed you were wearing the same shirt you wore 11 years ago, I would be a little concerned... smile

I haven't taken off my pants, underware, socks, shirt, and shoes for a week now.

I think my athletes foot is growing athletes foot.
