I heard Big Fish was meant to be great? Whats it about?
JaneyPoos used to be it... then they changed what it was. Now what I am isn't it and what is it is strange and frightening to me...

From Fandango:

Edward Bloom (Albert Finney) has always been a teller of tall tales about his life as a young man (Ewan McGregor), when his wanderlust led him on an unlikely journey around the world. Bloom charms almost everyone he encounters except for his estranged son Will (Billy Crudup). When his mother Sandra (Lange) tries to reunite them, Will must learn how to separate fact from fiction in his father's life.

Marc, I think the sometimes unexciting feel of BIG FISH is almost necessary to communicate its subtext: We may try to spice life up, but sometimes it is just plain mundane.

Kind of an odd notion coming from the likes of Tim
Burton, eh?

At times, I thought the movie was gonna lose me, too. But if you get into the psyche of the characters and the quaintness underneath all the tall tales, it's actually pretty engaging. I actually thought a far more anticlimactic ending would have been a better twist.

Thanks Lammastide. I'm told that I slept through a key part in the film so this is probably why I didn't get it, I'll check it out again.

I think it's a brilliant tale. It does seem to have the triptofan (sp?) effect on everyone though, including me. Burton and whomever wrote this story should be glad they have created something like this .
"Climb in my fur."
