What a great story. It's so easy to get sucked in by a place like McDonalds -- the food is yummy, it's quick, cheap and convenient. But geez it's bad for you!

I wish it were as easy to eat healthily.

Over the course of the film, Spurlock is regularly examined by a gastroenterologist, a cardiologist and SoHo-based general practitioner Dr. Daryl Isaacs.

"He was an extremely healthy person who got very sick eating this McDonald's diet," Dr. Isaacs told The Post.

"None of us imagined he could deteriorate this badly - he looked terrible. The liver test was the most shocking thing - it became very, very abnormal."

Spurlock has since returned to normal health. "The treatment was to just stop doing what he was doing," Dr. Isaacs says.

None of this surprises me. Anybody with a working brain should know that if you depend on any fast food diet it's going to eventually, literally kill you. All that fried, processed crap is going to manifest itself in a bad way.

Cheap too. Where else can you get a full meal for under 5 bucks?

Sometimes I have to eat at Mc Do but I never feel good afterwards. Kinda like I've been eating cardboard.

BTW, there is a research facitity not far from where I live that develops "designer's smells" for the food industry, etc.

These products are supposed to "enhance" various products and fool the consumer. For instance, they will make for the "charcoal grill" smell of certain burgers, etc.

Next time you eat a burger concentrate on the discrepency between what you smell and what your tastebuds are telling you... (Well, you'd have to know how real food tastes like first, of course sad )

I've heard about Jack in the Box, but we don't have any in the midwest. Everyone says it's pretty good.

it's scary to think that, while they may not eat there three times a day, many people eat at fast food restaurants on a daily basis, for months and years on end. even worse, they feed this stuff to their children. disbelief

there's a movement to tax meat, in order to pay for the public health burden caused by meat consumption. not sure about fast food specifically, though.

who knows, certainly could be... not that we, as a nation, are ready to face the realities of our eating habits...

I never feel like McDonalds.

There is no taste in their burgers at all. You cant taste the meat, the cheese or anything other than the ketchup and the horrible sweet bun. ill

i haven't eaten at a micky d's in the longest time...the food there's just grown on my nerves. it's not like me and my folks always ate there when i was growin up--in fact, eatin out was a rarity in my family, home-cooked meals were the norm--it's just that i've lost interest in it. plus the food's gross to me now.

Lamma- There are a few jack in the box's where I live(here in the midwest!) Maybe you'll get one soon! Do you have Steak n Shake?

MMM! Fried "tacos" They are greasy and made with a soy based filling, but at least they are honest and don't make me dizzy afterwards! ooo and bacon cheese "potato" wedges.TAAADY!

I had an interesting conversation with a mcdonalds executive once. I was asking him about their beef because beef from certain chains make me sick and I'm always trying to track down the ingredient...
Anyway he told me that they use pure lean beef, then mix some fat into it, then form it into various sizes of burgers. I asked what kind of fat and he got pissed and said cow fat, of course. I replied that I wasn't trying to be a bitch, I was just curious to pinpoint the ingredient, then I asked why they didn't just use fatter beef to begin with, why it was processed, etc. He was miffed and said it wasn't, blah blah blah.

A movement? Perhaps a "PETA campaign" is more accurate.

Personally, I'm not too fond of PETA...

A midwest Jack in the Box. Wow! Cleveland misses out on a lot. We had IHOP when I was a kid, but they folded years ago. We just got a new three only about a month ago.

Please watch where you eat...

Less than 3 weeks ago, I went to KFC and ordered a 3-piece original recipe chicken & biscuit dinner. I noticed it had a stale/sour taste, but I kept eating it anyway because I was hungry. Directly after eating it, 45 minutes later I had this uncontrollable white horsespit salivating from my mouth. I was spitting incessantly. I didn't equate it to the chicken just yet so I went to sleep. I woke up an hour and 30 mins. later with a terrible headache and stomachache. I ran to the bathroom and I started vomitting. I realized by that time it was from the chicken I ate.

It gets worse...

I had a plane to catch on the same day. My mom was driving me to the airport and then as soon as I got to the airport I vomitted near the skycap because of the motion of the car. I checked-into my plane and as soon as it started moving I vomitted again. It was dead silent on the plane and everybody was just looking at me like I was crazy. People passed over about 6 or 7 motion sickness bags to me. During the course of the 5 hour flight from L.A. to Detroit, I vomitted 7 times. When I reached DTW, I went to a restroom and vomitted again! This time, the chicken was no longer in my body and my stomach was completely cleared out (I was vomitting bile -- the black liquid lining around my stomach). I thought that would be the last time I threw up. I arrived back to my apartment and I drank some water. I threw the water up!

I found out that the poultry I consumed from was improperly cooked and had traces of samonella bacteria. I had SAMONELLA FOOD POISIONING from eating KFC chicken! I reported that KFC restaurant to the L.A. County Department of Health, I called the KFC general offices and reported it. I even talked to the manager of the local KFC and I told them, "how do you perform on health inspections?" He said, "Our restaurant gets all 'A''s" (in Los Angeles, restaurants are graded by letter grades "A" means you have a clean restaurant, if you receive less than a "C" you have to close). I told him my samonella food poisoning and vomitting story and he then had the audacity to say "I'm so sorry...um, can we give you a discount, WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MORE CHICKEN?" I was like, "HELL NO!"

And there you have it folks. That was the last time I ate at KFC. And it happened this year for god's sake! The taste of original recipe chicken reminds me of vomit and bile. I now cook my own food on a regular basis and shy away from fast food restaurants.
