"How inappropriate!!!" The "Joyce" thread reminded me of a "what was he thinking?" moment:
A visiting minister, right before he started to preach, was making a few greetings to my church and my pastor. At such a time, it's customary to greet not only the pastor but his/her spouse, as well. Well, in saying hello (again, from the pulpit) to the pastor's wife, he said in this downright lecherous tone, "And to the first lady, who is the essence of femininity..." The remark was so bizarre and inappropriate, this tremor of "Huh?" went through the congregation. To this day, it grosses me out. Please, share your own gross-remark story. | |
