"The Passion" directed by Mel Gibson

So is this out in the US already? I've heard many things
about it and even seen a trailer online.

It's one of those movies that seems very interesting and
I would love to go see it but it doesn't look like it's
on the release schedule yet over here.

So I was wondering if anyone of you guys n girls has seen
it yet and what it was like?
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

The film is getting a very mixed reaction fromthe few who've seen it. Some absolutely love it, while others say its total crap. Seems to be no in-between. Some friends of mine saw it, and they said it was bloody awful.

my professor just saw the premiere and she really enjoyed it. i think she enjoyed meeting mel more than the film though. she teaches a class on the bible, so she was very aware of any inaccuracies but she said while some existed, it was pretty close to the texts. the controversy was brewing over the supposed 'anti-semitism' of the film. supposedly the whole bit where the blame is put on the jewish citizens (for choosing barabus to go free rather than jesus) is anti-semitic. but, really, if that's the case than you must consider THE BIBLE to be anti-semitic because that idea is not something mel thought up. its actually written in the texts. the film comes out sometime near easter and despite all its controversy (or because of it) it will be released on 2000 screens in the states. a pretty big deal for an indie movie filmed using aremaic and latin only. when was the last time a subtitled film was released on that large a scale in the states...you know americans hate to read at the movies. LOL!
