Maybe it's just me, but now the only the folders that go white are on threads I've read.

Confusion yes. So sorry. Apparently my computer was malfunctioning before (surprise surprise). When I would click on a red foldered- thread at the top, every thread earlier than it would also go white-foldered. All of a sudden it just became normal. I had assumed that it had been some bug everyone experienced that had been fixed. It was just my computer.
