Computer help needed (Jpg Bmp problem)

Help!! Everytime i want to save a picture in my pictures it only allows me to save as a Bmp not Jpg.When it say 'save as type' i only have a bmp option. This has only happened today. I know what i'm trying to save is a jpg. What do i do?

I know i can manually rename them .jpg but that's a complete pain.

Can anyone help? I'm on Windows ME.

cheers.

the only thing I can think of is the naming it .jpg and uploading it to your ftp site that way shrug

I've tried everything. It's probably something real simple too. It's weird, even my own avatar which is definately a jpeg is being read as a huge bmp if i right click and save. Look how bloody little it is!

WTF?! crash

Hmmm, could you use paint to open the .bmp and then save it as a jpeg?

KAMILLE

I had the same problem for a while. I copied the image and pasted it into Photoshop. It wasn't until I reinstalled Windows that it went back to normal. I think it's to do with spyware.

Before you reinstall Windows try applying the latest SP for IE. Also clear your cache and restart IE and it might start working again.

Do not reinstall windows! All you need to do is delete your temporary internet files because for some reason whent that folder gets full this problem occurs.

Start menu to settings to control panel to internet options and then delete them and the problem will be solved.
